Thumbs up

Hi,
I'm from the UK and I have been taking orlistat for 5 weeks now, i have lost a steady 12 pounds. I'm very pleased with the results so far, I need to lose another 21 pounds so hopefully they will do the trick.

Hi, I would try not to eat too much fatty food unless you want to get very acquainted to the toilet! Steer clear of fish and chips etc

I think you know yourself what is reasonably low in fat, I eat a lot of chicken and jacket spuds, stir frys, I don't cut out butter and all the rest of it, but i have cut down, I've lost 20lbs now, so it definitley is working for me.

And i still have my wine in the evening!! :-)

I think the best advice i can give you (if you have learned this by now) is don't trust your wind!! Orlistat gives people (me) very bad wind, it can have terrible consequences!!

And don't think that because you are on these tablets that you can eat what you like-they only get rid of 30% of the fat, not all of it-sensible eating has to go hand in hand with these tablets or they just won't work.

Good luck with them-do it right and they will work. x x x

I've been on Xenical for 13 months now and have lost 70lb in that time. I'd also lost 23lbs in the 3 month prior without the Xenical so I am 6st 9lbs (93lbs) less than what I was in May 2007. What to lose another 2 stone or so and I'll be at goal.

Kitty

Hi started taking it yesterday, have you joined the MAP support group? I am also from the UK, see this thread was posted in April, so how are you doing? Has it worked for you?
