I don't think there is any way to take less. You need to take something with every meal, and the only dosage is 60 mg. Also, I think if you cut back a lot to the point of having no chance of side effects, you'll eliminate the benefits. The percentage increase in the amount of weight lost isn't that great as it is, and cutting the dosage would almost make it not worth the effor or money.

Yeah, alli is the reduced dose option. Xenical is the higher dose, and you need a doctor's prescription for that.
