10% ?
I read that alli will on average increase weight loss by 10%. At first that didn't sound like much, but I started to think about what that means in actual pounds.
If you are only 15 pounds overweight, probably not much. But then if you are only 15 pounds overweight, you probably aren't going to take it anyway. But what if you need to lose 100 pounds. A 10% improvement would mean that by restricting your diet and exercising enough to lose 90 pounds, you would actually lose 100. That could mean shortening your diet. And make you feel better. But is it enough? |

I think that the 10% average isn't much of a number. Averages are not always useful. Namely, they are affected by extremes. For example, a few people can set an average one way.
For example, some poeple may not lose weight at all without Alli, but then do lose weight with it. |

I think they did a double-blind study. The people on Alli lost, on average, 10% more than the people who didn't take it. These studies usually have an adequate number of people in them, and they throw out the odd result anyway.
If you do a study with 1000 people, and your numbers range between 7% and 12%, with a few coming in at 50%, you don't include the 50% in the study. |
