Question XENICAL and the ATKINS DIET

I've seen several posts on here suggesting that you should NOT go on a high protien, low carb diet while taking ORLISTAT but NOBODY has provided any MEDICAL (or NON-MEDICAL !!) reasons why.

I am taking ORLISTAT right now and have been on the ATKINS DIET for approximately 3 weeks. In the first 10 days I lost 9 pounds. I've experienced no problems or side effects. Of course, I don't know how much of that weight loss to attribute to ORLISTAT and how much to ATKINS but I've certainly lost MORE than I did by just using ORLISTAT in the past.

So ….... WEIGH IN here (excuse the pun) and give me some sound advice.

BEST WISHES,

MICHAEL

If it works for you why not go for it. I think we're all different and what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another.

I was on Atkins for 2 years (about 3 years ago) and it worked great for me and I would think with Alli it would really work great the only concern I would have is the fat intake with atkins. I dont know how you do it but I know i ended up eating alot of fatty foods (lots of red meat) because I didn't have to watch that on Atkins. Thats the only glitch I could see that might cause you some discomfort. Congrates on your loss so far!

what to eat on a day doing atkins and taking xenical?

Hi,

I'm looking for fast weight loss - getting married in May and the idea of following a plan that is already proven to help weight loss and have the additional help of these tabs sounds like a great idea. I'm concerned about fat content of a daily atkins diet and the consequences!!. Can you give me an example of what you would eat on an average day?

All help/advise, greatly appreciated!!

Janine

Hi there! thanks for your message. I can only tell you what has been working for me. I find the xenical works best when I get my 3 doses in each day. I try to eat breakfast as soon I can after waking. I'll have either oatmeal with milk, cereal, or toast and an egg, doesn't really matter, but I try to keep each meal under 500 cal. and around 10 grams of fat. it is very important to eat healthy fat at each meal. this can be hard to figure out, but for example, a small handful of almonds, cheese or a few slices of avacado. the fat helps you stay full. For lunch I either have a salad, or lean cuisine or soup. again, making sure I get enough fat. Supper, I just eat what I make for my family, I just make mine a smaller portion. Lots of water is important. I've been taking a multi-vitamin and also fish oil supplements. snacks I try to keep under 100 calories and I don't eat after 8 pm. Hope this helps. I don't pretend to be an expert, I still have 37 lbs to lose. Good luck!
