I was wondering how soon after eating do these lovely side effects start. I was surprised after the two big meals I had this week that I didn't have any of the side effects stated on the bottle. I've only started taking Alli and was all ready for the side effects but they didn't happen! Is it something that happens next day or right after?

If you eat low fat the side effects don't happen. I've had only a couple of minor problems in 5 months of taking Xenical.

In my three months on Xenical I have only had two or three incidents of oily stools and I knew that they were coming because I had an extra fatty meal. Even these were not too bad. More upsetting to me is excess flatulence after a fatty meal. All that said the pill is a great deterrant to unhealthy eating and now the taste of too much fat is not very appealing to me.

I was wondering the exact same thing. I have only taken Xenical for 1 week and have lost 8 lbs. I have not really had any bad side effects only 2 incidents of oily stools that I knew were coming. None of the embarassing stuff I have heard about.

I have been taking xenical for 13 days and only started to have side effects about 2 days ago,I eat low fat most of the time and still get the oil in the loo,i think that it depends on the person taking it.I know people who have taken xenical and it has done nothing even after an extra fatty meal,i am even thinking about cutting down and just taking 2 xenical a day.

i have side effects if ive ate sumthing fatty.pastry is the worst for me! i have been good this week so i havnt had any.
