If your weight came from sweets and carbs?

If you gained most of your weight from eating too many sweets and carbs, will xenical help? After all, if you are already on a low fat diet, it won't have much of an impact, will it?

I think it would still help, because it would get rid of the fat. Then, the carbs would probably be turned into fat.

I don't think it would have nearly as much of an effect. I don't think it does anything to the fat you already have stored in your body, does it? Doesn't it just keep you from using the fat you eat and turning it into fat?

It probably accounts for some of the differences in results they see between people. People who have really high fat diets but aren't big on sweets or starches are likely to see more weight loss because xenical works on fats. And the side effects will force them to be good about restricting their fats.

You actually aren't supposed to take xenical if you don't have any fat in a meal. So if you are mainly a sugar and carb craver, and you aren't eating a lot of fat, you shouldn't even consider xenical or alli.

This is my problem....

I told my doctor and the surgeon who recommended it that my meals weren't high in fat but high in carbs and portion sizes and they've still prescribed it for me.

I've been mainly constipated, but I had an experiment where I ate a very high fat meal to see if it worked and it had the desired effects but I don't eat enough fat on a day to day basis.

I've not lost any weight yet so far.
