The doctor's visit

I absolutely hated going to the doctor and telling him I wanted to try Xenical. I didn't like the lecture on side effects, I didn't like the lecture on needing to diet and exercise, too, and I didn't like getting on the scale and having my weight written down on the chart. At least I have insurance, so I only didn't like paying for it a little bit.

Does that make any sense?

I'm dreading it. One of life's worst experiences is getting on that big scale and watching the nurse move those weights around. No excuses then. You can't tell yourself that the floor is uneven or the scale is old. You can't check to see if the start point is really zero. Your only out is that the scale is usually in the hallway, so you have to be dressed, and you can blame it all on the twenty pounds of clothes you put on this morning.

It's facing it that's the problem. I don't know about you, but I only look at my face in mirrors, never my body unless it is unavoidable.

It is very tough to go to the doctor. It's a shameful experience. However, I think it is good in the long run. Anything good in life is hard to get. Anything easy isn't worth it.
