I've been reading lots of posts saying that people have been losing weight within only a few days of taking Xenical. I've been on them for 4 days now and have not lost a single pound. I have been eating very healthy low fat meals and not cheating at all apart from maybe one small chocolate cookie at night with my cup of tea (only because I was so good during the day). I have not had any side effects either apart from the feeling of needing the toilet but all is fine in that department.
I thought I was maybe expecing too much too soon but after reading lots of comments about other people losing weight almost immediately im losing hope These tablets are expensive enough for them not to work. Anyone else in my shoes or has any info to tell me where im going wrong? Much appreciated |

hang in there
Hi there, make sure you are eating enough healthy fat with each meal. I aim for between 10-20 grams of fat per meal. for example, grab a small handful of almonds to eat after your cereal in the morning, or cut up some avacado on your salad, etc. the xenical does work...I took it 2 years ago to lose 30 lbs, and now I am taking it again, and have lost 12 lbs in the last month. good luck!

Hi Stella,
I'll take your advice about the extra good fats and get some almonds tomorrow at the supermarket. Thats 5 days now and still nothing Im going to give it another 2 weeks but if I've still not lost anything by then there's no use in me buying more. How long did it take you to lose the first amount of weight when you started back on Xenical? |

My advice would be not to weigh yourself so often. When I started I intended to only weigh after a month but did crack after 11 or 12 days. Everyone is different and your body needs time to adapt to the change.

takes a bit of time for your body to adjust
I agree with Kitty, I try to not weigh myself everyday, once a week, or even every two weeks. I have been on them now for 5 weeks, and I have not had any bad side effects. I am so excited about the weight I have lost so far, which is 12 lbs. I still have 30-40 lbs to lose, but I have increased energy, my clothes are getting too big, and I feel happier and more confidant. I try to tell myself that this is a journey. I am not where I want to be, but I am not where I was. all I can do is to make healthy choices for today!!!

I wish I had your positive attitude Stella! Maybe once/if the weight starts coming off i'll be the same.
I'm going to start my fitness DVD again today and take Kitty's advice to not weigh myself again until next week. Thanks for your replies ladies x |
